Karolyn Arndt, age 82, of Des Plaines passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012. Loving wife of the late Leo for over 60 years; dear daughter of the late Leopold and Mary Menzl; loving mother of Nancy (Keith) Brunelli, Bonnie (John) Kwasny, and Michael (Lynn) Arndt; cherished grandmother of Emily, Brian, Kyle, Daniel, and Kevin; fond sister of the late Roland (Lillian) Menzl; lovingly cared for later in her life by Honey, Maria, Amy, and Margie. Karolyn loved the arts and reading, was a founding member of St. Emily Catholic Church, and was a teacher for over 20 years at St. Emily. Visitation for Karolyn will be on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a service at 3:00 p.m. at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue in Des Plaines. Prayers will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Emily Catholic Church, 1400 E. Central Road in Mt. Prospect.
